About the Role
The primary purpose of this role is the maintenance and upkeep of roadsides, council parks and private residences.

The successful candidate must work well in a team and carry out tasks independently following direction. Must be physically fit, punctual and have excellent communication skills.

This will start out as a casual job ranging from 8 – 38 hours per week.

Primary tasks include:

  • General gardening
  • Lawn mowing
  • Brush cutting
  • Hedge trimming
  • Chipping
  • Planting
  • Weeding
  • Waste removal

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Ensure work areas are safe
  • Participate in daily JSA meetings to mitigate any risks that may be present
  • Conduct work in a manner that is safe
  • Comply with the employee responsibilities as outlined within the MPG Operations Handbook
  • Look out for the safety of self and others
  • Maintain and wear all PPE

Required Skills:

  • Current VIC Drivers Licence (desirable)
  • Current Working With Children’s Check (desirable)
  • The ability to pass a police check
  • Ability to work safely and promote safety in the workplace
  • Attention to detail
  • Problem solving skills
  • Daily access to a smart phone
  • Ability to work autonomously or as part of a team

Desirable Skills:

  • Mechanically minded
  • Previous gardening experience
  • Chemical weed control certificate
  • Horticultural certificate
  • The ability to drive a manual vehicle
  • Medium rigid VIC Drivers Licence

About the Role
MPG is seeking an enthusiastic, skilled and reliable individual to lead a small gardening crew.

The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring that work is completed to a high standard in a safe manner and reporting via our online management system. Must have previous gardening experience, be physically fit, punctual and have excellent communication skills.

This will start out as a casual job with the potential to convert to a full time position.

Primary tasks include, but are not limited to:

  • Conducting onsite safety briefings ensuring work areas are safe and the completion of JSA’s
  • Giving direction and oversight to a works crew
  • General gardening work including lawn mowing, brush cutting, chipping and chain sawing
  • Planting, hedging, pruning, fertilizing and mulching plants, trees and shrubs
  • Removal of hard waste
  • Chemical weed control
  • Complying with the employee responsibilities as outlined within the MPG Operations Handbook
  • Looking out for the safety of self and others
  • Maintaining and wearing all PPE
  • Other horticultural duties as required

Required Skills:

  • Previous gardening experience, leading hand experience would be preferable
  • A strong knowledge of good horticultural practices, plant and weed identification
  • Are physically fit, hard working with a strong work ethic
  • Current VIC Drivers Licence (medium rigid is desirable)
  • Confident to tow a trailer or chipper
  • Current Working With Children’s Check
  • The ability to pass a police check
  • The ability to work safely and promote safety in the workplace
  • Attention to detail
  • Problem solving skills
  • Daily access to a smart phone
  • The ability to work autonomously or as part of a team
  • Mechanically minded
  • An eye for detail

About the Role
The primary purpose of this role is the maintenance and upkeep of fire breaks within Parks Victoria National Parks which will meet the standards set as per the Parks Victoria contract. This is done through the use of tractors, slashing decks and reach arms.

The role comes with the responsibility of being a safe and experienced tractor operator as we work in steep terrain. Someone that is aware of their surroundings, can make sound judgment calls and is a team player that looks out for other members of the crew to. Our motto is ‘there’s no heroes on the mountain’, slow and steady wins the race and ensures everyone goes home safely at the end of a good day.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • The ability to work a 10 hour day (7am – 5pm), Monday – Friday, as per contract specifications, no exceptions
  • Ensure work areas are safe
  • Participate in daily JSA meetings to mitigate any risks that may be present
  • Conduct work in a manner that is safe
  • Comply with the employee responsibilities as outlined within the MPG Operations Handbook
  • Look out for the safety of self and others
  • Drive and maintain tractor and slashing deck
  • Maintain and wear all PPE

Required Skills:

  • Current VIC Drivers Licence (desirable)
  • Ability to pass a police check
  • Ability to work safely and promote safety in the workplace
  • Attention to detail
  • Problem solving skills
  • Daily access to a smart phone
  • Ability to work autonomously or as part of a team
